How to prepare for Everest base camp trek?

Preparation for the Everest base camp trek is very important for a successful trek. It takes 12 days to complete the Everest base camp trek, and it is impossible to complete the trek unless you prepare it well. Trek preparation is not very difficult, but it is regular task that makes your body fit and healthy for trekking. These trek preparation tips are equally important for Everest three passes trek, Gokyo Cho La pass trek and Gokyo lake trek.

The best methods of trek preparation 

Physical exercise: Walking, running, cycling, swimming, and strength exercises come under physical exercises.

Walking: Walking is the most important trek preparation method that should be done for 2 or more hours a day before three months of trekking.

Running: If you do not have more time for walking then running is another best practice that should be done for one hour daily before three months of trekking. 

Cycling: Cycling is highly supportive for trekking. It helps to strengthen your muscles and prevent from twisting of muscles. If we do not get enough time for walking and running, then cycling is effective.

Swimming: Swimming is also effective for trek preparation. It helps to make your muscles strong and prevent from twisting of muscles while walking a long distance. 

Strength exercises: Different strength exercises: squats, push up, plank, weightlifting are some strength exercises that is very important for making your body stronger for trek. 

Best season: It is very important to select the best season for trekking to enjoy the mind-blowing view of mountains and landscapes. Generally, the months of March, April, May, September, October and November are the best months for trekking in the mountains.

 Permits: permits are very essential for trekking in national parks and conservation areas. Trekkers are not allowed to enter without permit. We can get permit from tourism board Nepal.

Preparation of trek is very important for trekking in high altitude of mountains. Even though we cannot prevent altitude sickness by preparation of trek. Acclimatization is very important to prevent from altitude sickness which occurs only during the trek.
